What do you do? 

I am currently pursuing MDS.

What prompted you to choose this profession?

I wanted to be a doctor since my childhood. I didn't get selected for MBBS, so I opted for BDS.

What is the best part about being a dental student/professional?

The satisfaction that I get after treating/relieving my patient's pain.

How do you like spending your free time?

Getting to know about latest technology, reading books , photography

Which is your favorite subject in dentistry and why? 

Pedodontics - I like children

Which is your least favorite subject in dentistry?

Public Health Dentistry

What are some studying tips you use to retain and understand things better?

Watching simplified lectures, making handmade flowcharts and diagrams.

Which dental procedure(s) you enjoy/anticipate doing the most?

Oral surgeries, endodontic treatments

What do you enjoy more, doing an RCT or extracting teeth? 

Doing an RCT

What are some challenges you face in your professional field?

Since, I graduated from a government dental college and hospital, I personally feel like I didn't get exposed to the latest technical aspects in practicing dentistry. Interns in Govt. Dental College are being forced to practice old traditional ways rather than following the newest and simplest form of treatment, which I think the patients as well the students are not satisfied with majority of the treatment outcomes.

What has been the best/most memorable moment in your dental school so far?

Enjoying batch trips with my friends, and getting exposed to an adequate amount of patients and hands-on skills.

Has dentistry impacted your food choices? Like, do you consume less sugary and sticky food items? 

To an extent, now I am aware of the food choices I have.

As a dental health professional, what is your dental health care regime?

I do periodic dental examinations on my own, and I've made a habit of brushing twice daily.

If given a choice, what alternate career would you have opted for?

Photographer

Where would you like to work in the future? 

I don't know, maybe I'll just practice dentistry in my own clinic or in a hospital.

What is your dream travel destination?

Europe and United States
