A 16-year-old boy in East Delhi was stabbed to death by three peers after refusing to give a treat to celebrate his new smartphone

In a tragic incident on September 23 in Shakarpur, East Delhi, a 16-year-old boy named Sachin was stabbed to death by three other teenagers, also aged 16, after he refused to treat them for buying a new smartphone.

The incident unfolded near Ramji Samosa, a popular snack shop in the area. While patrolling the neighborhood, local police officers noticed bloodstains near the shop and decided to investigate. Following the trail of blood, they found Sachin, gravely wounded, lying in an alley. He had been stabbed multiple times in the back and was bleeding profusely. The officers immediately rushed him to LNJP Hospital, where doctors declared him dead due to the severity of his injuries.

The Attack and Investigation

According to police reports, Sachin was on his way home with a friend after purchasing a new smartphone when he was approached by a group of three boys. The group demanded that Sachin throw a party to celebrate his new purchase. When Sachin refused, a heated argument erupted, escalating quickly into violence. The three boys attacked Sachin, stabbing him multiple times before fleeing the scene, leaving him to bleed in the alley.

Apoorva Gupta, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Delhi), confirmed that the victim was a resident of the Shakarpur area. Authorities swiftly launched an investigation, using CCTV footage from nearby shops to identify the attackers. The footage provided clear evidence of the crime, leading to the arrest of the three boys. They were taken into custody and charged under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the BNS. The murder weapons used in the attack were also recovered by the police.

Community Shocked by Senseless Violence

The Shakarpur community is in shock over the senseless murder. Neighbors and friends of Sachin described him as a bright and responsible teenager with a promising future. His sudden death has left a deep wound in the hearts of those who knew him.
