According to the reports, the man is identified as 20-year-old Liu, from Jiangsu province in eastern China. He is a second-year University student. He deeply believed that all his female classmates fancied him. As time passed, his condition worsened. He started showing bold displays of love for his fellow female classmates in an inappropriate manner. His symptoms started in February 2024 and kept deteriorating.

He even approached all his female classmates and expressed his love to some women. However, he received negative responses from them. But, he still thought women were too shy to accept his love. Due to his condition, he was always excited and displayed changes in his behavior. He stayed up all night and spent money carelessly. He was also distracted during the classes.  Afterward, he was sent to the hospital, where the doctors diagnosed Liu with delusional love disorder. He is being treated with drugs and psychotherapy and is currently doing better after treatment.

As per Dr. Lu, this condition is generally seen between March and April. The change in the weather during the period can generate fluctuations of endocrine levels in the body. He also said that people who are suffering from this condition can experience sleep loss and also get hyper. They can also suffer from sex addiction and in more extreme cases, the patients become enraged and attack people.
