Major medical malpractice has been alleged against the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode once more. Rather than operating on the child's sixth finger, the doctor operated on the four-year-old's tongue without the child's parents' permission.

The girl, who suffers from polydactyly, was brought to the hospital to have her extra hand finger removed. The surgeon who entered the operating room for the procedure, according to the hospital superintendent, discovered that the child had a medical problem known as "tongue-tie." After making this diagnosis, the surgeon chose to perform the planned operation on the girl's tongue first. However, the child's surgery was performed without the parents' permission.

The Institute of Maternal and Child Health's superintendent, Dr. Arun Preet, confirmed to Onmanorama that the hospital had really had such a "mistake." "Yes, something happened. Still, the operation will only help the youngster. The infant had tongue tie, which the doctor addressed before removing the sixth finger during surgery. We acknowledge that there was a communication breakdown and are looking into it. The day's itinerary included sixteen operations. Still, he stated, "The extra surgery won't have a negative effect on the child.

Health Minister Veena intervened and ordered the Director of Medical Education to look into the event right now and provide a thorough report. The family announced their plan to file a police report and request that those accountable for the serious mistake take legal action, and the youngster was admitted to the hospital. The child's relatives stated, "No one should have to go through this again at the Medical College Hospital." They indicated the child's tongue was not an issue. The child's relatives further stated that the hospital administration should take accountability in the event that the operation has a negative impact on the child. "The hospital authorities informed us that it was a mistake as they had scheduled surgery for two children on the same date," a family member said.

Following KK Harshina's C-section at the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode, a set of forceps was left in her tummy. This medical negligence case has put the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital in the limelight.
