In a shocking incident, a man in Sitamarhi district, Bihar, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly killing his wife after she asked for money to buy medicines. The woman, Rekha Devi (30), had been suffering from a fever and requested money from her husband, Rajkumar Das, to purchase medication. When she made the request, Das reportedly attacked her, leading to her death. The entire incident was witnessed by the couple’s five-year-old daughter, who later revealed the details to the police.

The tragic incident occurred in Bedaul village, under the Pupri police station area, according to police officials. Rekha Devi was Rajkumar Das's second wife. His first wife had passed away from an illness seven years ago. Rajkumar and Rekha had four children together, and the family had been facing ongoing domestic conflicts.

Police were informed by Rekha’s sister, Aruna Devi, that the couple frequently fought over various family issues. Aruna also noted that Rajkumar often prevented Rekha from communicating with her family, adding to the tension in their relationship. Despite these recurring disputes, the family never anticipated such a tragic outcome.

Pupri Station House Officer (SHO) Chandra Bhushan Singh confirmed the arrest and revealed that the investigation began after Rekha’s daughter spoke to the authorities. “The child witnessed the horrific event and described what happened,” said Singh. “We are investigating the matter thoroughly and have taken Rajkumar Das into custody.”

The police have also registered a case based on the complaint from Rekha Devi’s family. Officials are looking into the couple’s history of disputes and the financial issues that may have contributed to the conflict.

This incident has left the local community in shock, with many expressing concerns about the prevalence of domestic violence in the area. Neighbors have described Rekha as a devoted mother, and her sudden death has devastated her children.
