Bihar: Missing Doctor Found Dead, Family Suspects Foul Play

The body of a 24-year-old doctor was discovered in the Nalanda region of Bihar lately in a disturbing occurrence that led the family to believe that their son might have been killed.

The brother of the victim claims that on Wednesday, Dr. Suman left the victim's house to attend to a patient in the nearby village of Mahanandpur but did not come back. The family filed a missing person report at the Asthawan Police Station after Dr. Suman did not show up by late at night.

The victim, identified as Dr Suman Giri, lived in Chulhari village and was under the Asthawa Police Station's jurisdiction.

“I urged the police officials to register a missing complaint and take prompt action to search for my brother, but they refused. On my way back home, I spotted his bike. His dead body was also found a short distance away,” the victim’s brother stated.

He reported the suspected murder to the family members and the police right away.

During the preliminary investigation, it appears he was beaten to death. The reason for the incident has not yet been ascertained. We are investigating the case and will soon arrest the accused.

Local people protested against the police officers after the incident and left the dead body on the road. A probe is being conducted in this regard.
