According to police, two unknown individuals on a two-wheeler arrived in the neighborhood and asked locals about someone named Gunamani. When the locals said they didn't know anyone by that name, the duo then inquired about Dr. Amitkumar’s house. The locals directed them to the doctor's residence.
The two individuals threw two bombs into Dr. Amitkumar's courtyard soon afterward, which were perhaps hand grenades. While the second bomb stayed unexploded in front of the automobile, one exploded under it, lighting it on fire. The seven-year-old boy injured in the bomb is the son of Mayanglambam Sachidananda, a coach in the State's Department of Youth Affairs and Sports and the elder brother of Dr. Amitkumar. The infant received treatment immediately after being taken to a nearby hospital.
Dr. Amitkumar, who is also a member of the Wushu Association of Manipur and a coach, expressed shock at the incident. He mentioned that there had been no previous threats, monetary demands, or known enmity with anyone. He appealed to the offenders to clarify their motives.
About 9:30 PM, a bomb disposal squad arrived at the location and took control of the detonated grenade. Police have registered a case, and an investigation is set to begin soon. The attackers and the motive behind this attack are currently being investigated by the authorities.
