Chicago Doctor to Contest Elections in India Against AAP & His Former Associate, Arvind Kejriwal

Dr. Munish Kumar Raizada, a Chicago based practicing neonatologist has announced that he will be putting up an electoral fight against Arvind Kejriwal in India. Dr. Raizada has been practicing as a neonatologist for 22 years in Chicago,  USA.

Dr. Raizada completed his MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) in Sevagram Wardha, Maharashtra in 1992 and moved to the USA in 2003 for further medical training in pediatrics. Further, he did a specialization in pediatrics at the Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center in Long Island, New York and underwent a fellowship in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine from John H Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Chicago and later started working as a neonatologist in Illinois. Dr. Raizada achieved his board certification (BC) in Neonatology - Perinatal Medicine in 2009. He has worked with various neonatology practice groups,  providing his services as a doctor to multiple hospitals in Chicago, Normal, Blooimngton and Urbana. He had also served in academics at SIU School of Medicine at Springfield, Illinois along with working as a neonatologist at St John Hospital and Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Raizada has decided to run for political office in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections from the New Delhi assembly constituency (AC-40) against his former associate and AAP convener, Arvind Kejriwal.

Speaking to Medbound Times, Dr. Raizada said, “I have taken care of the physical health of the people for a long time and now it is time to take care of the political health of the people and our country. A direct fight against Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi assembly constituency is part of my resolve against corruption."

Dr. Raizada has decided to run for political office in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections from the New Delhi assembly constituency (AC-40) against his former associate and AAP convener, Arvind Kejriwal.

Dr. Raizada was actively associated with the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement as well as the Anna Aandolan and when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was formed, he became a founding member of the party. Dr. Raizada was a close confidant of Arvind Kejriwal to the extent that he was made the co-convener of the NRI cell of the Aam Aadmi Party along with Dr. Kumar Vishwas.

Dissociating himself with the AAP when Arvind Kejriwal started compromising on the principles and promises of the movement, Dr. Raizada ran a “No list No Donation” (NLND) campaign (also called Chanda Bandh Satyagraha)  in Delhi and Punjab after meeting Anna Hazare. The background of this issue was the removal of donors' lists from its official website and which to Dr. Raizada and other activists running the Satyagraha against AAP.

Dr. Raizada is the National President of Bharatiya Liberal Party (BLP).

Besides being a doctor and a politician, Dr. Raizada is also a filmmaker. He has made a 7-episode web series named Transparency: Pardarshita that brings out the insider dynamics of the IAC movement and the AAP. This docu-drama was released in 2020.

In October 2023, Dr. Raizada returned to India for full time political work, leaving his lucrative medical practice to serve the people of his country. He is the National President of Bharatiya Liberal Party (BLP), a Delhi-centric political party whose political ideology revolves around anti-corruption, social justice and good governance models.
