A disturbing incident has surfaced online, where a customer shared her horrifying experience of finding a cockroach in her iced latte, initially mistaken for a coffee bean.

This is not the first time L'Opéra Cafe has faced backlash for its service. The internet has repeatedly expressed outrage over similar incidents, raising concerns about the cafe's commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.

What actually happened?

On October 4, a customer visited L'Opéra's Khan Market outlet in Delhi, ordering an iced latte and salted caramel coffee for takeaway. As she began sipping her coffee, she noticed a floating object, mistaking it for a coffee bean. However, she was horrified when she opened the lid of her disposable coffee glass to discover a cockroach floating in her drink. Appalled, she took to social media to share a disturbing snapshot of the contaminated iced latte alongside her bill, exposing the bakery's alarming lapse in food safety.

Customer Reaction:

The customer immediately went back to the outlet, showing staff the disturbing evidence: a dead cockroach floating in her iced latte.

According to her Reddit post (WaltzSimple6037), the staff's reaction was underwhelming. Despite apologizing for the "foreign particle" in her coffee, the customer felt they showed "no genuine concern at all." She wrote that on October 4, she visited L'Opéra in Khan Market, ordering an iced latte to take away. Upon opening the drink, she initially thought a coffee bean was floating inside but was horrified to discover a dead cockroach instead.

The customer's alarming experience has raised serious concerns about L'Opéra's cleanliness standards. The customer confided, "I'm seriously questioning their cleanliness now." She was equally dismayed by the staff's nonchalant response, feeling their repeated apologies lacked authenticity. She also raised her concern saying: If a reputable brand can neglect cleanliness, what about smaller eateries? She stated that she can't even imagine what it's like at other places in India.

The Redditor further asked netizens: Has anyone else experienced any such issues at L'Opéra or other cafes?

Netizens Reaction:

The shocking revelation sparked a heated discussion on Reddit, as fellow users expressed outrage and shared similar experiences. One of the fellow users expressed disbelief and anger stating that it should be banned and closed down for this! and some wrote on a lighter note saying it’s not a bug, it’s a feature! Another user mentioned that even when you pay such a high price for a drink, there are no food standards in India. On a humorous approach, one of the users mentioned I guess it’s one way to add protein to your drink.
