A shocking and heartbreaking incident involving a couple's quest for social media fame occurred in West Bengal. To provide eye-catching content for Instagram reels, Jaydev Ghosh and his wife Sathi, who live in the North 24 Parganas area, made the difficult choice to sell their eight-month-old son.

Since it would allow them to record high-definition films for their social media accounts, the couple had their sights set on Apple's most recent flagship device. They viewed the iPhone 14 as a path to success since they had aspirations of becoming social media gurus and gaining followers.

The couple already had a daughter who was seven years old. Jaydev and Sathi carried out the inconceivable act of selling their own flesh and blood in an effort to satiate their needs.

After learning about the terrible circumstances, the police acted quickly to intervene and save the child from Priyanka Ghosh, who had paid money for the young boy. Sathi, the boy's mother, was captured; however, Jaydev, the boy's father, managed to escape, sparking a manhunt to find him.

Sathi admitted to the crime while police were investigating, saying that she and her husband intended to use the money to traverse the state and film captivating scenes for their Instagram reels. (Representational Image: Unsplash)

Sathi admitted to the crime while police were investigating, saying that she and her husband intended to use the money to traverse the state and film captivating scenes for their Instagram reels. They had abandoned their parenting duties in order to perform this horrible deed, drawn by the allure of fame and recognition on social media sites.

It was revealed that Jaydev had also attempted to sell their daughter, who was seven years old; fortunately, the plan was foiled, making the situation even more unsettling.

A neighbour said that the infant boy was sold for a price of 2 lakh in an interview with India Today. The pair then used the money to buy a mobile phone and other amenities, including a honeymoon vacation to Digha Sea Beach.

The episode has shocked the neighborhood, shocking everyone at the couple's misplaced priorities and total disdain for their children's safety. The tragic story serves as a sobering reminder of the negative outcomes that can occur when infatuation with social media popularity trumps fundamental humanity and accountability, as the authorities continue their efforts to apprehend Jaydev.
