Following the death of a pregnant patient, 25, at a private nursing home in the Biharsharif Station Road section of the Nalanda district, Bihar on Sunday night, her furious relatives allegedly threw a nurse off the first floor of the building and vandalized the establishment.

Punam Kumari, a 35-year-old nurse, was brought to Biharsharif Sadar Hospital and subsequently transferred to a private hospital in a critical state. Punam's husband claimed she was thrown off the building, despite police saying she had jumped to protect herself from the enraged mob.

According to police, Gudiya Kumari, a pregnant patient, was brought to the nursing home due to stomach pain, but she passed away while receiving care. Following a post-mortem, her relatives received her body.

Gudiya's family burst into the nursing home after she passed away and went into a frenzy. Doctors and staff ran away, fearing their anger, according to cops. Police were informed by the bereaved that Gudiya died as a result of an injection given by the nurse, which caused her health to quickly worsen. Later, the family complained to the police about the nursing home and its employees.

The in-charge of the Biharsharif police station, Ramashankar Singh, stated that Punam had jumped from the first-floor balcony to get away from the crowd. "Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and calmed the family aside from rescuing the nurse. No complaints have been filed by the nurse's family."
