A man in Delhi killed his newborn twin daughters and buried them quickly after they were discharged from the hospital. The police revealed this shocking information today. The accused, Neeraj Solanki, has escaped since the crime was reported, while the twins' grandfather has been arrested on murder charges.
On May 30, in Rohtak, Haryana, the mother Puja gave birth to the twins. After her discharge, Neeraj took the babies from her. According to Puja's complaint, she was heading to her father's house on June 1 when Neeraj made her believe he would follow in another car with the babies. However, his car took a different route, and he avoided all contact with Puja and her brother Jugnu.
Jugnu, concerned about the sudden disappearance, tried reaching out to Neeraj, but he did not respond to their calls. Worried, the family filed a police complaint. The investigation led them to Pooth Kalan in outer Delhi, where the babies were found buried.
Puja, who wed Neeraj in 2022, said in her case that her in-laws had coerced her into having a son and harassed her for the dowry. They were unhappy with the twin girls. This tension in the family escalated to a tragic end with the murder of the newborns.
The police took immediate action in response to Puja's complaint. The two babies' bodies were pulled up and sent for an autopsy on June 5. Although the exact cause of their deaths is yet unknown, preliminary research indicates that gender bias and familial pressure played a significant role in their deaths.
