Driver Suffers Heart Attack, Loses Control Over Vehicle; 2 Dead

A Bolero vehicle driver suffered a heart attack due to which he lost control of the vehicle and rammed into people who were participating in a religious procession.

A tragic accident happened during the celebrations of Vishwakarma Jayanti in Degana, Rajasthan. A Bolero vehicle driver suffered a heart attack due to which he lost control of the vehicle and rammed into people who were participating in a religious procession. This accident claimed the lives of two and several people injured.

Some injured people are being treated locally in Degana and some are referred to Ajmir for medical assistance. Due to the accident, the Degana Hospital encountered a ripple of inpatient entries.

Vishwakarma Jayanti in Degana is a religious procession, which was taken out by members of the Jangid community. The procession attracts a large number of people including children and women. According to the CCTV footage, several people were walking on the road, and one door of the Bolero vehicle was open. Initially, the vehicle is moving slowly behind the crowd. Suddenly, the speed of the vehicle increased and rammed into the people who were taking part in the procession resulting in an accident that injured several people.

The Nagaur police said that the driver died due to a heart attack and said five people were injured of which three were discharged after immediate treatment and the other two were referred to Ajmir.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma through the X (formerly Twitter) platform conveyed his condolences. In his X post, he wrote that deeply saddened by the news of a road accident during the procession taken out on Vishwakarma Jayanti in Degana. He prays to the lord to give peace to the departed soul and for the speedy recovery of those injured and also says may the family members have the strength to bear this shock.

During the investigation, several concerns were raised. Vehicles are generally prohibited during such processions and concerns about the crowded market environment where the accident occurred. The investigation is still on to find out whether this Bolero vehicle is part of the procession or infringed suddenly.
