IPO-bound food delivery platform Swiggy has partnered with PharmEasy to deliver medicines in 10 minutes. This partnership will enable Swiggy to rapidly deliver over-the-counter and prescription drugs through its Instamart service using the infrastructure and regulatory framework.
Money Control reports that Swiggy has a pilot program in Bengaluru. Swiggy plans to expand its operations based on the success of the pilot program.

Swiggy plans to deliver prescription medications to customers within 10 minutes using its Instamart service. PharmEasy reportedly set up stores within its dark stores to streamline the process. Customers can order various medications, including pain relievers, fever medicines, and prescription drugs.
This unique shop-in-shop model is within Swiggy's Dark stores. It allows the company to deliver prescription drugs, a first for the quick commerce sector. The move is seen as a part of Swiggy's strategy to increase its average order values and address widening financial losses despite growing revenue.
A dark store is a retail store (For groceries, home goods retailers, and clothing brands) converted into a micro fulfillment center. Its layout is organized and optimized for retail fulfillment of online orders. These retail distribution outlets are not open to shoppers, providing more space to store inventory and accurately fulfill orders.
Once the order is placed, items can be picked and packed in the dark store supplied, shipped, and even picked by the customer locally. It provides retailers with options for local and all customers.
