Bhopal: Grandmother Kills Disabled Newborn Granddaughter

Authorities in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, have detained a 55-year-old grandmother on suspicion of choking her 4-day-old granddaughter, who was born with birth defects. Following the sad tragedy on March 27, law enforcement personnel conducted a thorough investigation.

The child, who was born on March 23 at Kamla Raja Hospital in Gwalior, had a tragic outcome because she passed away just four days after her birth. After the baby died too soon, the mother complained, which led to an extensive investigation by the authorities into what happened before the tragedy.

The grandmother was arrested after the post mortem result verified choke as the cause of death, according to City Superintendent of Police Ashok Singh Jadaun. Premlata Chouhan, The grandmother was arrested and charged with murder before being imprisoned until further legal proceedings.

Kajal Chauhan, the mother of the kid, stated that her mother-in-law eagerly expected for a grandchild. Premlata Chouhan was found to have been lying next to the baby at the hospital on the fateful morning of March 27. She denied knowing about the child's existence, though, when asked where she was the next day.

The newborn's lifeless body was taken out of the grandmother after the child's parents got involved. Medical experts verified the infant's untimely death despite their best efforts to save her. The heartbroken parents made a visit to Premlata Chouhan at the hospital, demanding an explanation for their child's unexpected death.

The incident, which falls under the authority of the Kampu police station, surprised the community and triggered demands for justice as well as criticism. The terrible outcome highlights the significance of bringing attention to the problems and offering help to families raising children with disabilities.

The unfortunate incident provides a sobering reminder of how important it is to protect the most needy members of society while investigations and legal actions are underway. In their pursuit of justice, authorities are still committed to holding those responsible for these mindless acts of violence against innocent lives accountable.
