In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Gujarat police seized over 427 kilograms of drugs in two separate operations in Bharuch and Surat districts. Four individuals were arrested, and two FIRs were filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The first operation took place near Velanja village in Surat, where police intercepted a four-wheeler and seized 2.031 kilograms of MD drug. Three persons, Montu Patel, Virat Patel, and Vipul Patel, were arrested in connection with the seizure. In a parallel operation, police raided Avasar Enterprise, a unit located in Ankleshwar GIDC, and seized 141 grams of MD and 427 kilograms of suspected drugs. Vishal Patel, the alleged mastermind, was taken into custody.
The criminals has additionally confessed to supplying 2 kilograms of drugs to Mumbai. The seized drugs have been sent to a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for confirmation.

This significant bust comes on the heels of another massive cocaine seizure in Delhi, where over 500 kilograms of cocaine valued at Rs 5,000 crore was recovered from Avkar Drugs Limited factory in Ankleshwar.
With the arrest of criminals like Vishal Patel, the police have managed to dismantle a significant portion of the drug network. This will not only disrupt the supply chain but also create fear among other drug peddlers and suppliers, potentially leading to a decline in drug-related activities in the region. The Gujarat Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) and Surat police worked in tandem to execute these operations, highlighting their commitment to curbing the drug menace.
