Hyderabad: Doctor's Suicide Note Accuses SI of Harassment

In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old outsourcing employee at a government hospital in Ibrahimpatnam allegedly took his own life near his home in Ibrahimpatnam on Tuesday.

Police recovered a suicide note reportedly written by the deceased, Jayanth, in which he claimed that he took the extreme step due to harassment by hospital superintendent Dr. Raghunath and Shaik Mybelly, Ibrahimpatnam Police Sub-Inspector.

He reportedly said in the suicide note that these two people were harassing him and his family members. Mybelly had taken a bribe and was threatening to implicate him in other cases. He urged CM Revanth Reddy to ensure strict punishment for these two people.

The police claimed that Jayanth was undergoing treatment at the Erragadda mental hospital and that he was addicted to ganja. Last week, he entered the government hospital, caught the superintendent by the collar, and abused him and other doctors in an intoxicated condition, Ibrahimpatnam Inspector B. Satyanarayana said.

B. Satyanarayana said that they received a complaint from Dr. Raghunath, and a case of assaulting a government officer on duty under IPC Section 353 was lodged against Jayanth.

KPV Raju, who is the ACP of Ibrahimpatnam, said that an abetment to suicide case has been registered against the doctor and SI on a complaint from Jayanth’s family members.

According to police, on February 29, an argument broke out between Jayanth, the medical officer, and other staff while conducting a post-mortem in a case at Ibrahimpatnam Hospital. In this regard, two cases have been filed against Jayanth on a complaint from the superintendent and also a constable from Abdullapurmet police station.
