The webinar was organized by MedBound in collaboration with IASSS (International Association of Student Surgical Societies) Ukraine. The IASSS serves an essential function in furthering the field of surgery. IASSS aims to unite the world’s existing student surgical interest groups to facilitate the creation of new ones and ensure that every aspiring surgeon around the world has the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals locally and internationally.

The session started with a brief introduction of IASSS & MedBound from Manu Sharan Srivastava, National Delegate of IASSS Ukraine, IASSS, and Dr. Darshit Patel, Medical Lead & Advisor, MedBound respectively. Manu interacted with the audience on the topic of Blunt Trauma Injury and welcomed the speaker of the day, Dr. Malhar Mone. Dr. Malhar is a renowned Blunt Trauma expert and is currently working as a physician in SLR Labs, Pune.

Dr. Malhar started the session by explaining the concept of Blunt Trauma Injury and the various approaches taken to manage the trauma. Further, Dr. Malhar took on various topics like Hemorrhagic Shock Classification, Tension Pneumothorax, Cardiac Tamponade, and Glasgow Coma Scale.

Towards the end of the session, a vote of thanks was delivered by Manu Sharan Srivastava to MedBound and also to his team from IASSS, including Prachi Raghav, Djiedkyrpang Rymbai, Lalitha Lavanya Shree.S, Megan Dsouza, Jigyasha Kumari, Manas Nair, Chetna Jena, Arsh Aashit, Ayushi Varshney, Rahul Bharadwaj, Sheezah and Keerthana.
