The Madhya Pradesh government has launched a massive initiative that will allow medical students to choose to study MBBS in Hindi rather than English, which is the standard throughout the rest of the nation. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, Minister of Cooperation, and MP, of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha, launched the Hindi version of three subjects i.e. biochemistry, anatomy, and medical physiology on Sunday at an event in Bhopal, the state capital. With this Madhya Pradesh became the first state to start its MBBS curriculum in Hindi.

Mr Shah described the project as a time of "reformation and transformation" for the Indian educational system. He described how the mother tongue can help in better analyzing, understanding, and learning.

"I am pleased that Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of [MP], has fully adopted and is advancing the three-language model. Speaking at the Lal Parade Ground book launch for first-year medical texts, Mr Shah stated, "Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, we have started giving significance to our languages under the New Education Policy.

After medical school, other engineering and technical courses would also be taught in Hindi, he continued. He said that preparations had been made for students to take the Common University Admission Test in 13 languages in addition to the 12 national languages for the UGC exams, JEE, and NEET (the entrance exams for engineering and medicine, respectively).

"Today Amit Shah has brought a new dawn in the lives of children from impoverished families who could secure admission to medical institutes but were trapped in the web of English and frequently could not pass exams and quit their studies," CM Chouhan stated.

This launch in the field of medical education is going to bring a big positive change in the country. With this, while lakhs of students will be able to study in their own language, many doors of opportunities will also open for them ( PM Modi Official Twitter Handle)

Mr Shah remarked that individuals did not need to harbour an inferiority complex due to a lack of knowledge of English and gave PM Modi credit for turning India's "drain of wealth" (by Dadabhai Naoroji) into brain gain. "Now that our nation is led by Narendra Modi, you may demonstrate your abilities in your languages extremely well," he remarked.

He also announced that a separate merit list will be prepared for students who will pursue their MBBS course in Hindi medium.

According to the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) report (2019-2020) by the Education Ministry, more than 42% of students study in Hindi medium schools. After school, taking admission to professional courses where the whole curriculum is in English is a challenge for Hindi medium students, which most of them tend to overcome. Still, some fail to do so because of a lack of understanding of the concepts due to changes in the language of the studying medium. They are not entirely able to utilize their potential in such cases.

Launching higher studies, and professional studies in their language will be a boon to such students as they will be able to complete their studies by being in their best state.
