Another incident raised serious concerns about food and safety integrity in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Recently, the incident came to light when the dead frog was allegedly found in a packet of Balaji wafers. The wafers manufacturing company is one of the famous and well-known companies of food and snack producers. The company denies the allegation but the investigation is ongoing to unfold the truth.
On June 18, a resident of Pushkardham Society, Jasmin Patel's four-year-old niece brought the wafer packet and without finding it strange Patel ate some of the wafers with her nine-month-old niece. Patel was shocked the next morning when her niece opened the same wafer packet to eat and she found a dead frog inside.
Patel tried to connect with the distributor and customer care service of Balaji Wafers, after not getting a satisfactory response she was quickly informed to the Jamnagar food branch of the Municipal Corporation. The food branch responded quickly and came to the spot to analyze the wafer packet. Upon confirming a dead frog, they took the samples of the wafer and other samples of the same batch for testing.
Officials aim to determine how the contamination occurred and ensure the quality and safety of food products sold to consumers. Speaking about the complaint, food safety officer D.B. Parmar said. The Food branch visited the shop from where the wafers were purchased and a preliminary probe suggested a frog was in a decomposed state.

Finally, the manager of Balaji Wafer's Jai Sachdev denied the claims with a statement and said, "Our plant is completely automatic, even any bad potato is removed, so this frog issue cannot be accepted. We will get an investigation in this regard. Our aim is to provide hygienic products to the people."
