Madhya Pradesh: Doctor Lashes Out at Injured Patients after CM Helpline Complaint; FIR Filed

At the Shivpuri district hospital in Madhya Pradesh, a doctor is accused of beating three injured patients with slaps and his shoes. The patients had apparently complained to the CM Helpline about the doctor, which enraged him.

A video that showed the entire incident was made public on Sunday. After that, an angry mob approached the neighborhood police station and demanded that the doctor be charged with an FIR. After the protest, the Khod Chowki police filed a case against the doctor.

The patients, Chandan Jatav, Gaurav Jatav, and Bhanu Pratap Jatav from the Guiya Deori village, suffered injuries in a bike accident. The three were charged by the doctor with assaulting him and making a disturbance in the hospital.

Following their accident late at night, the injured people used a 108 ambulance to get to the Khod village health center. They said that despite their repeated requests, Anurag Tiwari, the attending doctor, did not visit them. They complained to the CM Helpline because they were frustrated. According to reports, Tiwari attacked the hospital staff after learning about the allegation.

According to Anurag Tiwari, the three injured men came to the hospital on July 31st, while under the influence of alcohol. He said they went into the maternity unit, lay on the beds, and made noise while they were being attended to. They allegedly tried to fight after being asked to leave the ward and grabbed some medical scissors. Tiwari claimed that the altercation was the cause of his violent reaction.

Sanjay Risheshwar, the district immunization officer, said that if the doctor is found guilty, administrative action will be taken once a team reviews the video footage of the incident. Gitesh Sharma of the Bhonti Police Station said that a case has been filed against the doctor due to the victims' allegation.
