Man Plants a Bomb in a Home Theatre and Gifts It to Ex-girlfriend at Her Wedding; Her Husband Dies

The accused, Sarju Markam, was angry about his ex-girlfriend getting married. Therefore, he gifted her the home theatre with a bomb planted inside.

Revenge stories don't get any more heinous than this. An enraged lover finds a shocking way to execute revenge on his ex-girlfriend as he plants a bomb in a home theatre and gifts it at her wedding.

The incident took place at Chamari village in the Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh. The accused, Sarju Markam, was angry about his ex-girlfriend getting married. Therefore, he gifted her the home theatre with a bomb planted inside.

When the victim was unpacking the gifts, he saw a nameless box that had the home theatre. However, when the victim connected the home theatre to an electrical switch and switched it on, there was a huge explosion. The victim, identified as Hemendra Meravi (32), died on the spot. Meravi's brother was injured and succumbed to his injuries later. Five people were seriously injured as well.

Police traced Markam with a history of phone calls. He had called his ex-girlfriend a day before her marriage on March 30. He tried to dissuade her from getting married and threatened her by saying that she will never be happy. He also called Hemendra, and they had an altercation.

Markam has experience in electronic repair work and had worked with explosives at a stone-crushing unit. He has been preparing for this since March 30.
