A shocking incident happened in Mumbai’s Malad area. A teenage girl was found dead in a clinic. Mumbai police lodged a case against a doctor for the alleged rape and abetment of suicide of a teenage girl in his clinic. The clinic is located in the Malad suburb. The incident occurred on Thursday, December 28. The official confirmed that the deceased teenage girl, whose age has not been disclosed, was employed at the clinic.

The girl was found hanging at the doctor's medical facility. Upon receiving the information, a team from Kurar Police Station immediately rushed to the crime scene. After that, the dead body was transferred to a civic-run hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The deceased's mother claimed that her daughter did not commit suicide. Her mother said the girl had previously complained about the doctor's rude behavior. According to the Mid-Day, the family also alleged that the doctor used to sexually abuse and beat the girl and stop her from talking to anyone else, either in person or on the phone. The girl's mental condition worsened, which likely pushed her to resort to such a grave measure.

The police lodged the complaint and registered allegations against the doctor under IPC Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 376 (punishment for rape). The police also applied all the relevant provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO Act).

Earlier, in July 2023, a doctor in Badlapur West was arrested for allegedly raping a 25-year-old specially-abled woman. The victim’s mother asked her to bring some spices, but she didn’t return for 15 to 20 minutes. The victim’s other sister and mother went out to search for her. They found the victim’s slippers outside the doctor’s clinic. When two of them went into the clinic, they found the accused in an inappropriate state with the victim. The accused has been arrested immediately under IPC Section 376 for rape. The doctor was previously booked under IPC Section 306 for abetment to suicide.
