Another case of death due to performance-enhancing pills has surfaced from Nagpur in Maharashtra.
A 41-year-old man died after taking two Viagra pills while drinking alcohol. The man did not have any significant medical or surgical history.
The man had met a female friend at a hotel. According to reports, he consumed two 50mg tablets of Sildenafil. Sildenafil is sold under the brand name Viagra.
He started to feel uneasy and vomited the next morning. The female friend urged him to seek some medical treatment. However, he ignored it and claimed that this was not the first time something like this has happened.
However, his symptoms worsened as time passed by. He had to be rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. He had suffered a cerebrovascular hemorrhage in which the oxygen supply to the brain is reduced. The post-mortem reports revealed that there was around 300 grams of clotted blood.
The consumption of Viagra along with alcohol while having pre-existing high-blood pressure is concluded as the cause of death.
Such pills are usually associated with heart attacks. Researchers believe these pills can potentially cause dangerous blood clots in men. They can also lead to the constriction of arteries.
