The 48-year-old Russian social media influencer Maxim Lyutyi, erratic experiment with a sunlight diet leads to the death of his son Kosmos. He was inspired by the legendary strength comic book hero Superman, who involved subjecting Kosmos to an extreme vegan 'prana' diet, which meant the son had to sustain on spiritual energy-infused foods and sunlight. This perception unfortunately resulted in the infant's death from malnutrition and pneumonia while being routed to a hospital in Sochi, Krasnodar.

The baby boy was born at his home after Lyutyi refused to let the boy's mother, Okasan Mironova, go to a maternity hospital. Lyutyi then forced a strict vegan "prana" diet on his son Kosmos, focusing on foods like berries and promoting the belief that sustenance could be obtained solely from sunlight. This unusual belief impacted Kosmo's diet and medical health.

Lyutyi declined standard medical treatment for Kosmos and substituted cold baths to improve the baby's health. Unfortunately, this unconventional method led to tragic consequences, resulting in the baby's death.

"He forced her not to feed the baby. Her boyfriend believed that the sun was feeding the baby."

'How is it possible to feed the baby with sunlight? A baby needs his mother's milk." she added. Galina, Mironova's mother, expressed her regret for not getting involved earlier, recollecting her daughter's gradual separation under Lyutyi's hypocritical behavior. "Oksana lived there like a guinea pig. Each time she became colder to me...she was his slave," she said.

The tragic story ended with Kosmos tragically passing away from starvation on March 8 last year. Lyutyi, at first, tried to drag and put the blame on Mironova, but later confessed that he was responsible for his son's death. He asked for forgiveness, saying it was due to neglect rather than purposeful harm.

After the trial, prosecutors are asked for an eight-and-a-half-year prison term, accompanied by a Rs 94,000 fine. Additionally, the mother has been sentenced to two years of "correctional labor'.
