The unusual and shocking incident happened with a university student in the United Kingdom. Jess Davis was ready to turn 20 the following day when she received probably the most baffling gift any woman could wish for.

Davis went to the toilet due to extreme stomach pain but ended up giving birth to a baby. Another baffling twist, she didn't know she was pregnant and didn't even have a baby bump.

The unique incident

Davis woke up on June 11 with severe abdominal pain. She had a house party planned for her birthday the next day. She started with her daily chores and even took a shower to feel better. However, the pain had gotten worse.

She had a sudden urge to go to the toilet. Little did she know, she was actually going through the process of giving birth. She felt the tearing sensation while pushing. Since she was alone at home, she called her best friend, who in turn called the ambulance.

She had no clue about her pregnancy. She had issues with her periods but didn't notice she had stopped having them for a while. Fortunately, the baby boy was healthy and weighed around 3 kgs.

Davis, who just turned 20, realizes that she needs to 'grow' up for the sake of her son. "I didn't realize what had happened until I heard him cry," Ms. Davis said. She added, "It suddenly hit me that I really need to grow up. It took a little while to get over the initial shock and adjust and bond with him, but now I'm over the moon."

"He is the most chilled baby ever. He's known as the quiet baby on the ward," she added.
