Conjoined twins Veena and Vani from Telangana sailed through their class 12 board exams with flying colors. Their next goal is to become successful chartered accounts.

The twins cleared their board exams in first class. They then scored exceptionally well in their Intermediate Public Examination (IPE). Veena scored 712, while Vani scored 707 in the prestigious exam conducted by the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE).

Education Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy and Minister for Women and Child Welfare Sathyavathi Rathod invited them last week to congratulate them on their success. The twins expressed their aspiration to become chartered accounts. The minsters assured to provide them with all the support for their higher studies.

"I am so proud of Vani and Veena. God has a special place in his heart for special children like you. I wish you the very best," Sabitha Indra Reddy tweeted after meeting the twins.

Veena and Vani were born to a couple of daily wage laborers in Telangana's Warangal district on October 15, 2003. They were unfortunately abandoned by their parents, saying they have no resources to take care of them.

The state government has been taking care of the twins since then. They were raised in a government hospital and later shifted to Shishu Vihar. Shishu Vihar is a child care center run by the Department of Women and Child Welfare. Doctors could not separate the twins as they shared critical blood vessels.
