Dogs are the most trusted and loyal animals, and sometimes they are treated impatiently and left out in devastating conditions. We can see them on the roads roaming unintentionally and being hit by vehicles.

But the journey of Dora is different; she spent most of her life locked in a cage, subjected to laboratory examinations. The beagle pup was rescued by Chicago Animal Rescue "one tail at a time” and posted her first walk after the rescue on their social media platform TikTok account @onetailatatime, saying," She went out for her first walk today, and we think she did a really good job."

Little Dora takes her steps carefully, exploring and sniffing her surroundings while walking with her human, recording the video. It was posted on the Instagram page "We rate dogs," and the video went viral and reached 5 lakh views, flooded with likes and comments. In the post, they quoted, "This is Dora. She's going on her first walk after being rescued from a lab facility.  We are so proud of her," along with the video. In the video, Dora is not confident enough to walk and is crawling barely, and the people posted comments like "We all had to crawl before we could walk. You got this, Dora, and another one said sometimes it's just safest to stay extra close to the ground for those first few little beagle steps and also asked for updates about Dora's health.

Sadly, beagles are the most commonly used dogs for animal testing because of their size, friendly personalities, and genetic uniformity. These traits make them perfect test subjects for research, particularly in pharmaceutical and medical examinations, because of their easy handling and consistent outcomes. Actions to eliminate laboratory tests and experiments on beagles are taking place, and many activists are fighting for alternate procedures.  Animal welfare organizations are working for stricter policies to lower the use of beagles and other animals in research studies.
