Tragic Discovery: Missing Female Doctor's Body Found in Drain

A female doctor from Government Medical College and Super Facility Hospital, Azamgarh, was missing for a week. On Sunday, the Gujaini police recovered the body of the doctor floating in a drain near the Pandu River. The female doctor's dead body was found after the locals spotted it floating in a drain and immediately alerted the police. Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot along with forensic experts from the Field Unit.

The victim was identified as Dr. Richa Bharti (34), the daughter of retired bank employee Ram Niwas, who is a resident of Barra, Kanpur. Dr. Richa had studied MBBS in Azamgarh.

The police were in search of the doctor for a week, leading to the start of a search operation in order to find her, which failed. After finding her dead body, the police reached out to the doctor's family and obtained confirmation of her identity.

According to the deceased father's statement, the doctor was suffering from depression. She had a tendency to end her life. It appeared that she had earlier attempted suicide several times but failed. Although this time, the doctor went outside from her house, informing her parents that she was going for a walk, and went missing. It is still not clear whether she committed suicide or if any foul play was involved. The results of her postmortem examination will help the police determine the cause of her death.

A missing complaint was registered at the Gujaini police station, but the police failed to trace her.

Now, further investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the doctor’s death.
