In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a tragic incident unfolded when a 24-year-old man named Sumit Chauhan died after receiving medical treatment for abdominal pain at a local clinic. Sumit’s family has alleged that his death was a result of medical negligence and that the doctor who treated him, Dr. Mavasi Singh Sikarwar, was not qualified to provide medical care.

Sumit Chauhan initially experienced sudden pain in his abdomen and chest, prompting his family to take him to Dr. Sikarwar’s clinic for treatment. Dr. Sikarwar administered two injections and prescribed medication before sending Sumit home. However, his condition deteriorated shortly after his return, raising alarm among his family members. They rushed him to the government civil hospital in Hajiara, hoping for immediate medical attention. Unfortunately, when they arrived at the hospital, the doctor on duty declared Sumit dead upon arrival.

The sudden loss of Sumit Chauhan left his family in deep sorrow and anger. Grief-stricken, they placed his body on the road outside the clinic and staged a protest, blocking traffic and demanding justice. They accused Dr. Sikarwar of negligence, claiming that his improper treatment, combined with his lack of medical qualifications, directly contributed to Sumit’s untimely death. The family insisted that the wrong injections and medications prescribed by the unqualified doctor led to Sumit’s tragic fate.

As tensions mounted, local police arrived at the scene to de-escalate the situation. Officers assured the grieving family that a case would be filed against the doctor in question. They promised a thorough investigation into the allegations of medical negligence. The police subsequently sent Sumit’s body for a post-mortem examination, hoping to uncover more information about the exact cause of his death.

Despite police intervention, the family, along with relatives, remained firm in their demand for justice. They continued to protest, urging authorities to take immediate action against the doctor responsible. Their primary concern centered around the fact that Dr. Sikarwar was allegedly practicing medicine without proper qualifications and licenses, which, they believed, resulted in Sumit’s fatal treatment.

After several hours of protest, the police registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) against Dr. Sikarwar. In response to the family's demands and the growing unrest, authorities also decided to seal the doctor’s clinic to prevent further medical activity. Furthermore, the police informed the Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) about the incident, urging an investigation into the doctor's medical practices. The CMHO is expected to examine whether Dr. Sikarwar was engaging in illegal medical activities without the necessary certifications.

The tragic death of Sumit Chauhan has highlighted the critical issue of unqualified medical practitioners operating in local communities, putting lives at risk. The family’s determined protest reflects the broader concern over medical negligence and the need for stricter regulations on who is allowed to practice medicine. This incident has raised important questions about the accountability of healthcare providers and the safety of patients seeking treatment from local clinics.

As the investigation continues, the Chauhan family hopes for justice for their son. They demand that authorities not only hold Dr. Sikarwar accountable for Sumit’s death but also take preventive measures to ensure that unqualified individuals are not allowed to practice medicine. The case underscores the importance of qualified healthcare professionals and the dire consequences that can arise when medical standards are not met.
