Even though having sex is enjoyable, a few  women experience vaginal soreness afterward. There are numerous causes for this, and each woman may have a different cause. It may be caused by incredibly strenuous sexual activity or any other circumstance.

The following are a few reasons for having vaginal soreness after sex:

1) Infection - The most frequent cause of this is an STI, a sexually transmitted infection, such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, or genital herpes. Others include vulvovaginal candidiasis or vaginal thrush, which causes thick vaginal discharge and have the symptoms of itching and vaginal yeast infection.

2) UTIs, or urinary tract infections, can also cause pain. Since the anterior wall of the vagina is located behind the bladder. This is typically accompanied by frequent urination, regular pain or burning when urinating, and a sense that the bladder has not completely emptied. This could make you uncomfortable during, or after intercourse.

3) Allergy to condoms: The main component of condoms is latex. A sort of rubber material is latex. A few women have latex allergies, which can lead to vaginal soreness after sex due to inflammation and pain. Other condom options for these women include those constructed of polyurethane or polyisoprene. Nitrile female condoms for women can also be used as an alternative. Studies have also shown that flavored condoms are good for oral sex but should not be used for vaginal contact because of the ingredient's potential to irritate.

4) Hormonal changes - Due to the intense fluctuations in hormones, premenopausal and pregnant women are more likely to experience this. This hormonal imbalance causes the vagina to become less lubricated, making it dry. When there is dry vagina, there is more friction, which makes intercourse more unpleasant.

 5) Underlying conditions - Any underlying illnesses, such as endometriosis, fibroids, or pelvic inflammatory diseases, can result in vaginal bleeding and soreness, which can serve as a warning sign to see a doctor and have the underlying conditions examined and diagnosed.
