Dr. Munish Kumar Raizada is an Indian politician, activist, medical doctor, and a prominent non-resident Indian (NRI). He is currently the President of Bharatiya Liberal Party (BLP) and a practicing neonatologist. He is also the founder of MedBound and MedBound Times.
Dr. Raizada was born in Niwaz Nagar, a village near Narnaul in Haryana on July 21, 1968. His father, Jiwan Lal Raizada, was an academician, serving as a senior lecturer in Chemistry and retiring as Principal from the government college cadre in Haryana. His mother, Bimla Devi, is a homemaker.
Munish received his early schooling in private schools in Bhiwani and Faridabad. After completing pre-medical from Nehru Government College, Faridabad, he gained admission to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sewagram, Wardha, Maharashtra in 1985. He earned his MBBS degree in 1990 and DCH in 1992.
After graduation, Dr. Raizada served as a resident doctor in various hospitals in Delhi, including Saint Stephen Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital (DDUH), and Sun Flag Hospital in Faridabad. He also served as a Pediatrician in Hansi and Safidon towns before migrating to the USA in 2002. He had earlier obtained his ECFMG certification by passing the USMLEs.
Dr. Raizada completed his fellowship in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine from John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Chicago (2003-2006) and then a residency in General Pediatrics from Long Island Jewish Hospital, New Hyde Park, New York (2006-2008). He is doubly board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.
Dr. Raizada has served as an attending Neonatologist in the Midwest, including Chicago, Springfield, Urbana, and Normal in Illinois. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at SIU School of Medicine, Springfield, IL. In addition to his medical practice, he has made significant contributions as an activist and politician, currently, leading the Bharatiya Liberal Party (BLP).
Dr. Raizada has always been interested in politics and has been actively involved in various movements. He associated keenly with India Against Corruption (IAC) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Later, he distanced himself from AAP as they deviated from their initial idealism. He ran the Chanda Bandh Satyagraha and later produced and directed a web series titled "Transparency: Pardarshita" in 2019.
Dr. Raizada is deeply interested in politics, with a keen focus on democracy, reforms, and geo-strategy. He has also played cricket at the college level, captaining his college team in intra-university tournaments.
