On the second day of World Food India 2024, the Ministry of Ayush held an exclusive session titled "Revolutionizing Nutrition: Ayush Food Innovations for a Sustainable World", at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This 90-minute session brought together industry experts, policymakers, researchers, and emerging startups to delve into the immense potential of Ayush foods and nutraceuticals, particularly from a global market perspective. The event focused on adapting Ayurvedic principles and products to modern nutritional needs while retaining their ancient therapeutic value.

The session’s discussions explored various topics, including the expansion of Ayush startups, global market growth, and the scientific rationale behind Ayush-based nutrition. The session began with opening remarks by Prof. Tanuja Nesari, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda. She emphasized that Ayurvedic food is not only nutritious but also flavorful, countering the common misconception that health-focused diets often lack taste. She stressed the need to change public perception and highlight how Ayurvedic foods can be both nourishing and delicious.

Dr. Anupam Srivastava, Head of Ras Shastra & Bhaishjya Kalpana at the National Institute of Ayurveda, further underscored the importance of food security in India through the lens of Ayurveda Ahara. He detailed its categories, benefits, and the regulatory framework essential for promoting these products both domestically and globally.

Mr. Viral Tiwari, Co-Founder of Nuskha Kitchen, shared insights on how Ayush startups can accelerate growth and innovation. He encouraged the entrepreneurial community to harness Ayurveda's potential to meet global nutritional demands. Mr. Ashish Dixit, Head of Regulatory Affairs at Dabur, spoke on expanding Ayush nutrition into international markets. He outlined the strategies and opportunities to elevate Ayurvedic products on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manish Pande, Director & Head of the Project Analysis and Documentation Division at the Quality Council of India (QCI), discussed the critical need for ensuring quality and compliance in Ayush food products. He emphasized the role of regulatory measures in building consumer trust and supporting market growth. Dr. Sonali Mohan, Vice President of R&D and BD at Avesthagen, talked about the importance of promoting holistic health through Ayush foods while addressing the stigma surrounding these products.

The session was moderated by Dr. Radhe Krishan, Senior Media Advisor to the Ministry of Ayush, who concluded with a vote of thanks, praising the participants for their valuable insights. He emphasized that the discussions would provide essential knowledge to stakeholders, particularly startups, who are eager to explore innovations within the Ayurveda food sector.

The well-attended event attracted professionals from the Ayush and wellness sectors, including policymakers, investors, business leaders, regulatory officials, and academics. It was an excellent opportunity for stakeholders to explore innovations, expand the global market for Ayurvedic products, and enhance collaboration between various entities. The session aimed to raise awareness, improve quality standards, and foster international success for the Ayush sector, ultimately driving growth and innovation across the board.
