  1. What do you do?

    I am a 1st-year medical student at NRS medical college, Kolkata, West Bengal. Besides, I am simultaneously looking for opportunities for an internship at healthcare organizations.

  2. What’s the best part of your profession?

    I love the part where you get to study cases and diagnose based on symptoms.

  3. What made you choose this profession?

    Mainly, an interest in genetics, followed by volunteering experiences during the second wave of COVID-19 in India during 2020-2021, were the things which made me choose the field of healthcare and medicine.

  4. What’s your favorite book, and why?

    A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I talk about this because the tale was simply heartbreaking yet beautiful and it affected me in an unexplainable way the first time, I read it. If I have to suggest a recent read, I will suggest The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri.

  5. Do you and your colleagues practice taking blood on each other? Not yet.

  6. How would your friends describe you?

    A true ambivert.

  7. Who would you like to travel with?

    A lot of things if you ask me honestly. Besides healthcare and science, I am passionate about intersectional activism, music, photography, journalism, and movies. Over time, I hope to learn more about several topics, gather knowledge and maybe be passionate about more stuff.

  8. What is your least favorite subject?

    Till now, it's Biochemistry.

  9. Your favorite subject(s)?

    Physiology does seem interesting.

  10. What’s something you wish to change about the world?

    I hope that the world is a space where there's no stigma about mental health, and there's no discrimination based on race, ethnicity, caste, religion, etc.

  11. If your journey was/were a movie, what would it be called? I don't have a particular title in mind, but it would be a coming-of-age movie directed by Greta Gerwig or if I have to choose closer to home, Zoya Akhtar.

  12. What are you passionate about?

    A lot of things if you ask me honestly. Besides healthcare and science, I am passionate about intersectional activism, music, photography, journalism, and movies. Over time, I hope to learn more about several topics, gather knowledge and maybe be passionate about more stuff.

  13. What would you do if you were the last surviving human? Well, if I would be the last surviving human, it also means that the conditions around me won't be really safe. So, maybe just try to enjoy my last few days and live peacefully.

  14. Would you commit a crime if no one would know?

    Not specified, but it's implied that the answer is no.

  15. What would you do if you won a 1 Million dollar lottery?

    Buy a ticket to a Formula 1 race, visit as many places as I can over the world.

  16. If given a choice, what alternate career would you have opted for? I would have gone ahead to be a journalist or a cinematographer.

  17. What is your dream travel destination?

    There's Norway or Finland on my list since I wish to see the Northern Lights. There's also Santorini in Greece and Japan on my list.

  18. Where would you like to work in the future?

    There's no such fixed idea about it - wherever life takes me ahead. However, one organization which has my interest is Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders.
