I am a 1st Year MBBS student at MAMC, New Delhi.
What’s the best part of your profession? What made you choose this profession?
Choosing healthcare/allied professions enable individuals to do meaningful translational research that can actually have a significant impact on the lives of the masses by improving patient outcomes/quality of life. The ability of impacting people's lives through both clinical and research-based services is what I like most about this profession.
Do you like reading? What was the last thing you read?
I neither love nor despise reading. The last book that I can recollect reading was "Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos" by Dr. Steven Strogatz.
What is your favorite dish?
A good pizza is good enough to make me jump out of pure delight on most days.
How would your friends describe you?
Loyal, honest, and slightly narcissistic.
What sports did you play growing up?
Table tennis
What is your least favourite subject(s)? Your favorite subject(s)?
Least favorite: English Literature.
Favorite: Applied Mathematics has always been my favorite; but physics is a close second.
What’s something you wish to change about the world?
Make institutions (both academic and non-academic) more meritocratic.
If your journey were a movie, what would it be called?
"Meth-Matics."
What are you passionate about?
Mathematics and its applications to Medicine and Biology.
Best/memorable moment?
Seeing my Mother working in her Lab.
What do you love to do in your leisure time?
Engage in activities related to mathematics, read, and maybe play some table tennis.
What do you hate the most?
If I had to choose, probably dealing with unnecessary bureaucracy.
If given a choice, what alternate career would you have opted for?
If medicine was struck out from my list of options, I would, in all probability, have been a mathematician.
What is your dream travel destination?
Icelandic beaches.
Where and what kind of workplace would you like to work in the future?
At an academic institution where I have both the freedom and the resources to pursue research in fields that interest me.
