Major medical malpractice has been alleged against the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode once more. Rather than operating on the child's sixth finger, the doctor operated on the four-year-old's tongue without the child's parents' permission.

The girl, who suffers from polydactyly, was brought to the hospital to have her extra hand finger removed. The surgeon who entered the operating room for the procedure, according to the hospital superintendent, discovered that the child had a medical problem known as "tongue-tie." After making this diagnosis, the surgeon chose to perform the planned operation on the girl's tongue first. However, the child's surgery was performed without the parents' permission.
