The incidents of food poisoning cases are growing day by day, which is raising concerns regarding the quality and hygiene of the food.
Recently, 96 people fell ill and were hospitalized in Davangere, after attending a Beegara Oota. Among the 96 affected people, 22 were children.
This incident happened on Saturday in Shingarihalli, Harapanahalli taluk. Beegara Oota is a lunch meetup, which was arranged by the groom's family. Those people who had lunch started experiencing stomach discomfort, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Later they were admitted to Chigateri Hospital in Devanagari. According to the sources, among the affected individuals, 22 were children. MP Lata Mallikarjun, Harapanahalli MLA, DHO Dr. Shankarnaik and other officials visited the hospital to investigate the health of the patients.
Dr. Shankarnaik expressed that all those admitted patients are in stable condition and are exhibiting signs of recovery.
Another case was reported in Raichur, where two children reportedly died on Sunday as a result of alleged food poisoning. The officials visited the location and collected the food and water samples. They sent the samples to the laboratory for examination. The deceased were 7-year-old Aarati and 9-year-old Priyanka, daughters of Husenamma and Maruti, who reportedly died due to food poisoning or dehydration.
