The dead body of a student at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur was found in his dorm room on Wednesday, as per authorities.

Ranjeet Bhoyar, 25, was an MBBS program (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) PG intern, according to the police.

According to authorities, Bhoyar, who was receiving treatment for depression, overdosed on his medications. He was from the Odisha district of Bhuvneshwar.

The incident was discovered when Bhoyar's friends went seeking for him on Tuesday and discovered him unconscious on the dormitory floor, according to the police.

They notified the hostel warden, who subsequently contacted authorities, stating the police, adding that no suicide note was found at the scene of the tragedy.

After preliminary evidence suggested that the death was caused by a medication overdose, police stated that an investigation had been opened in this respect.
