Medical emergencies can strike at any time, and without timely intervention from a professional, they can lead to severe complications or even death. Recognizing this, Central Railway has introduced a 24/7 emergency medical service at Pune railway stations to ensure that passengers receive the necessary care when they need it most.

This service was launched by Central Railway to provide immediate medical assistance to passengers facing emergencies while traveling. The service is available round the clock at any station, ensuring that help is always within reach. In case of a medical emergency, the patient or any accompanying individual can request assistance at the next station or by contacting the ticket inspector via the railway helpline. This proactive approach helps in addressing medical issues before they escalate into more serious problems.

From June 1 to July 31, the "Doctor on Call" team has successfully provided medical assistance to 2,019 passengers across various divisions. This includes 815 passengers from the Nagpur division, 587 from Bhusawal, 297 from Pune, 236 from Solapur, and 84 from Mumbai. These numbers highlight the crucial role this service plays in safeguarding passenger health across the railway network.

Medical service is requested by passengers in need of medical treatment through Rail Helpline. A message is sent by the ‘rail madad’ program to the manager of the next station. A medical team of doctors and staff is present there. After the train reaches the next station, the medical team immediately goes onto the train and treats the passenger,

The process to access this service is straightforward. Passengers in need of medical assistance can request the service through the railway helpline 'Rail Madad.' Once the request is made, a message is sent to the station manager at the next stop. Upon arrival, a medical team will be ready to provide immediate care, ensuring that the patient receives prompt and professional treatment.

Central Railway's initiative is a vital step toward enhancing passenger safety and ensuring that medical help is readily available during travel.
