The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Vizag city, along with its partner Transasia Diagnostics Private Limited, hailed the debut of the ErbaMDx MonkeyPox RT-PCR Kit as a breakthrough in diagnostic technology. India's initial locally developed MPox testing system. The nation's attempts to prepare for epidemics and improve healthcare are markedly advanced by this breakthrough.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) have both rigorously validated the Kit and granted it emergency authorization. This validation demonstrates India's developing proficiency in vital health diagnostics and emphasizes the accuracy and dependability of the kit.

The Kit is unique in that its components have been lyophilized, allowing it to be delivered and kept at room temperature. This feature, which guarantees that essential diagnostic instruments are available even in the most remote places, is especially important for areas with poor cold chain infrastructure. With its 12-month shelf life and lack of cross-reactivity with other orthopoxviruses, the kit promises great precision and reliability.

Dr Jitendra Sharma, MD and Founder CEO of AMTZ, remarked, “the introduction of the ErbaMDx MonkeyPox RT-PCR Kit represents a significant achievement for both AMTZ and the nation. It exemplifies our commitment to advancing healthcare technology and reinforces our role in safeguarding public health against emerging threats.”

The introduction of the Kit strengthens diagnostic potential and highlights India's leadership in global health innovation. While the country leads the world in medical technology, partnerships such as the one between AMTZ and Transasia Diagnostics are critical to advancing the field's future and tackling global health issues.
