The most unexpected medical negligence came across in Bihar's government hospital in Minapur. A younger man injured in a bike accident in Bihar's Muzzafarpur was admitted to the government hospital, where he was surprised as doctors used cardboard cast plaster instead of plaster cast to fix his injured leg. When he went to another hospital, the doctors there also continued his treatment with cardboard cast plaster.
On June 7, a younger man named Mukesh Kumar in Bihar's Muzzafarpur met with a bike accident while riding his bike, he was immediately admitted to the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Muzzafarpur's Minapur area. The doctors of PHC started to treat his injured leg with a cardboard cast plaster instead of the plaster cast.
Later, Mr. Kumar recommended nearby Shree Krishna Medical College and Hospital College (SKMCH) in Muzzafarpur to avoid such medical negligence. However, the medical staff of SKMCH showed unprofessional behavior and his family alleged that no doctor was visited over the five days he was admitted to hospital.
Mr. Kumar shared his experience with media sources and said, "Last Saturday, I met with an accident while riding my bike. After the accident, I was referred to SKMCH with a cardboard cast from the Primary Health Center, and it's still the same..."
When the incident came to light through the media the SKMCH Medical superintendent Dr. Vibha came into action spoke about the incident and said, "The patient came from Minapur on Saturday to SKMCH with a cardboard cast. We received information that his plaster was not done. Upon inquiry, the doctors of the orthopedic department said that after a proper examination, a slab would be applied. Meanwhile, I have ordered a probe to find out how a cardboard cast was at the PHC."
