A chemical leakage was reported at Agron Remedies drug factory located on Moradabad Road in Uttarakhand on September 19, 2024.
The authorities of the factory when asked about the cause of the incident said that the incident took place while workers were working in the factory and suddenly the chemical used for making syrup fell on the ground.
According to the reports after this chemical spill used for making syrup, a few female workers named Asha Devi (42), Kanchan Saini (35), Meena (40), Asha Devi (33), Anita Yadav (22), Kashish (18), Chanchal (31), Neha (32) fainted and suffered some health conditions because of the smell of the chemical that was spilled.
Manish Singh, HR Head, of Agron Remedies drug factory informed that the eight women who suffered the effects of the incident were immediately admitted to a private hospital for treatment and will be discharged very soon and there was no casualty in the incident.
He also informed that there is no gas leakage or other issue in the factory or reason for this incident.
The Tehsildar of Kashipur, Pankaj Chandola said that the information of the incident at the pharmaceutical company has come to his notice and has been discussed with the factory management he also said that an administrative inquiry will be conducted to know the reason behind the incident happened.
The chemical leakage at the Uttarakhand medicine factory serves as a stark reminder of the importance of stringent safety protocols in the pharmaceutical industry. As investigations continue, the focus will remain on ensuring accountability and preventing future incidents.
