Days After Leaving the Hospital, Kerri-Anne, Star of Britain’s Got Talent, Dies by Suicide

In June of last year, Kerri-Anne Donaldson, a 2014 member of the dancing group Kings and Queens and a star of Britain's Got Talent, was sadly discovered dead at her Farnborough, Hampshire, home. According to The Mirror, the 38-year-old performed with Kai Widdrington and Neil and Katya Jones, who would go on to become Strictly Come Dancing pros.

Kerri-Anne was discovered hanging a few days after being released from a hospital in Lyne, Surrey, according to testimony given at the Winchester Coroner's Court. She was reported missing just before being admitted to the hospital, and she spent a brief time in police detention for unknown reasons before her away. Her cause of death was determined to be hanging by a post-mortem, and a full inquest is planned for the following year.

Last March, in a moving farewell social media message, Kerri-Anne talked about her battles with "inner demons," money problems, and self-doubt. Writing, "The last two years have challenged me beyond belief," she stated that she felt stuck in a "hamster wheel" and acknowledged that her life was far from the perfection that many had anticipated. My financial circumstances suffered as a result of the severe blow to my career. It was getting tougher for me to stay motivated.

Cara Donaldson, her sister, confirmed her passing on Facebook with a heartfelt remembrance. "My world has just fallen apart around me, and my heart hurts," Cara wrote. My lovely little sister is no longer living with us. Keep calm and cling to Nan.

Messages from Strictly Come Dancing performers were among the many tributes that came in from the dance community. Joanne Clifton wrote, "Dance up there with the angels," as a way to convey sadness. Kerri, you are a stunning dancer and a lovely person. Amy Dowden went on, "What a lovely dancer and good person. An angel has undoubtedly been added to heaven. Lovely, keep dancing up there.

The dance community and Kerri-Anne's loved ones are in mourning following her untimely death, remembering her as a compassionate person and gifted dancer.
