In New Delhi's Dwarka area, a nurse’s quick thinking and immediate actions saved an unconscious man's life. On June 15, Jaspreet Kaur, who works at Max Super Speciality Hospital, was on her way to work when she noticed a crowd gathering around a parked car. While most people were busy recording the incident, Jaspreet immediately sensed something was wrong and decided to act.
As she approached the car, Jaspreet saw an elderly man inside, motionless. Realizing the urgency, she and her husband decided to break the car's back window to unlock the door and get to the man. The crowd around them continued to record videos instead of helping, but this did not stop Jaspreet and her husband.
After unlocking the car, they found that the man was unresponsive. They moved the man to the roadside for better access and safety after responding rapidly to call the police. Jaspreet started doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the individual after realizing he needed emergency medical attention. For those going through cardiac arrest, CPR, which entails chest compressions, is an essential lifesaving method.
As Jaspreet administered CPR, the police arrived on the scene. Due to her timely and skilled response, the man started to show signs of recovery. He was then transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
