Delhi: Under-Construction Hospital Wall Collapse Kills One, Injures Eight

In Delhi's Dwarka Sector 12, a wall of an under-construction hospital basement collapsed on Thursday evening, killing one woman and injuring eight others.

Two head constables from the North Dwarka police station reported to the police that they noticed individuals gathered around a gas pump in Dwarka Sector 12 near an under-construction structure at around 6:30 p.m. On the northeast side of the structure, the wall of a basement that was still under construction collapsed as the constables discovered.

“All the injured were masons and workers. Apart from the deceased, everyone received minor injuries and all are safe,” according to a police official from the deputy commissioner of police's office in Dwarka.

Devi, 35, of Kakarwai, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, was identified as the dead. Her three children, Neha (24), Sangeeta (18), and Saurabh (12), as well as her spouse Santosh Pal, survive her.

Both the Indira Gandhi Hospital and the Aakash Healthcare Hospital are treating the injured.

The police stated that a case will be filed shortly.
