UP: Deputy CM Orders Dismissal of 17 Government Doctors Over Neglect and Absenteeism

17 government doctors, the highest number this year, are being collectively terminated due to extended unexplained absences from work. As a result, more than 70 government doctors in Uttar Pradesh have lost their jobs due to neglect in the last 12 months.

Brajesh Pathak, the Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister, gave Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma, the principal secretary for health, instructions on Thursday to start the process of firing these doctors.

The doctors who will be dismissed are Dr. Anand Goyal, who works at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Baldev, Mathura; Dr. Neha Singh, who works at the CHC in Mohankalan, Siddharthnagar; and Dr. Nikky, who works at the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Jagdishpur, Basti.

Dr. Isha Singh, who works at PHC Jameen Farenda in Azamgarh; Dr. Parul Verma, who works at CHC Khesraha in Siddharthnagar; Dr. Kritika, who works at PHC Holipura in Agra; Dr. Sonakshi Seth, who works at a PHC in Agra; Dr. Rajneesh Chaudhary, who works at PHC Betiya in Siddharthnagar; Dr. Rahul Kumar, who works at PHC Murli Chapra in Ballia; Dr. Jain, who works together with the chief medical officer of Ballia; Dr. Satyendra Parwar of Kalpi; and Dr. Anjali Verma, who works at PHC Mainpuri, will also be laid off.

According to a press statement from the Deputy Chief Minister, other names on the list are Dr. Swati Kushwaha, who is posted in Mainpuri; Dr. Akhlakh Ahmad, who is posted in Mirzapur; Dr. Ruby Jaiswal, who is placed in Bareilly; Dr. Sarita Pandey, who is posted in Firozabad; and Dr. Manish Magan, who is posted in Firozabad.

Notices will be served to the doctors and the termination procedure will be finished upon the minister's orders.

According to the press release, disciplinary action has also been suggested against three other government doctors: Dr. Mukul Mishra, who practices in Jhansi; Dr. Madhvi Singh, who practices in Barabanki; and Dr. Pramod Kumar, who practices in Bareilly.

“It is a great fortune to get the responsibility of serving the people and providing health services. Serving patients is like serving God. There is no place for any kind of negligence or indiscipline in this,” Pathak wrote on X.

Notices will be served to the doctors and the termination procedure will be finished upon the Minister's orders.
