A Kanpur couple and two others have been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing a 7-year-old girl, extracting, and eating her liver. The couple was influenced by the occult's advice, which led them towards the crime. The tragic incident occurred in Ghatampur village on November 14, 2020. The seven-year-old girl went missing while playing outside her house. Additional district government counsels Ram Rakshit Sharma, Pradeep Pandey, and Ajay Kumar Tripathi said a resident of a village in Ghatampur had registered a complaint to the local police. The following day, the lifeless body of the seven-year-old girl was found in a field outside the village.
After the trial, which lasted for three years, Additional District Judge (POCSO Act) Baquar Shamim Rizvi sentenced the accused couple Parshuram and Sunaina, their nephew Ankul, and his associate Viren to life imprisonment.
On investigation, it was revealed that the couple named Parshuram and Sunaina were childless even after 19 years of marriage. The couple believed in the occult's advice to consume the liver of a young girl to have a child, which led them to commit this heinous crime. Ankul and Viren accompanied them in the crime by abducting the girl. They misbehaved and sexually assaulted the girl. Then they killed her, extracted her liver, and handed it to the couple who ate the liver of the young girl. After the trial, which lasted for three years, the court convicted all four accused.
The convicted couple, Parshuram and Sunaina, have been ordered to pay a fine of 20,000 rupees each. The other two, Viren and Ankul, have been ordered to pay 45,000 rupees each.
