German National Carrying 6kg of Cocaine Detained by CBI at Delhi Airport

A German national of Indian descent was apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport with a package containing almost six kilograms of cocaine, according to officials.

Officials from the CBI identified the arrested individual as Ashok Kumar and stated that the central agency detectives' action was based on a trustworthy tip indicating that the accused was taking a flight from Doha to New Delhi. They estimated that the recovered cocaine cargo was worth Rs 30 crore.

According to the central probe agency, INTERPOL, an international organization, provided the intelligence in this case.

Hidden within capsules

Officials stated that the drug shipment was packed in capsules that were tucked inside of two soft dolls. They also mentioned that the 270 capsules contained suspected cocaine.

As a result, officials said, the accused has been placed under arrest in accordance with due process, and an investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Based on specific details, Delhi Customs at the IGI Airport on Tuesday also took into custody 742 grams of cocaine worth Rs 11.13 crore from a passenger who had come from Tanzania. He was imprisoned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985.
