Vaping is a wonderful and gratifying alternative to smoking, but like every other electronic device, vapes sometimes face problems. Knowing what commonly goes wrong and how to troubleshoot these problems keeps your device in great condition and ensures a smoother vape. Here are common vape issues and ways of troubleshooting them effectively.

Understanding Battery Issues

The most common problems that vapers experience deal with batteries. If your vape isn't turning on, or it's just not holding a charge, then the battery may be the problem. First things first, make sure the battery is charged. Remove any debris or dirt that may appear on the terminals of the battery since this makes for a bad connection. Clean it off with a dry cloth and try again. If the battery is still not operational, this could be a good time for replacement. So as not to experience problems with batteries, it is advisable to employ the use of only those batteries and chargers recommended by manufacturers.

Handling Leaking Tanks

Another frequent problem associated with vaping, particularly among users of refillable tank systems, is leakage. If some e-liquid is found to leak from your tank, the first thing to do would be to ascertain if all the components are fitted together with tight screws. Most leaks tend to happen because of some loose connections. Also, check the coil and make sure that it is well fixed; a loose coil can equally cause leaks. Avoid overfilling the tank and ensure using the right PG/VG ratio for your device. Inappropriate PG/VG ratios can also cause flooding and result in leaks.

Fixing Weak or Burnt Taste

When your vape starts to be weak or has an almost burnt taste, this could be influenced by a number of factors. Most common is a worn-out coil. Coils go through a life cycle and must be replaced periodically. In case the coil is still rather new and the taste is weak or burnt, pay attention to the wicking material. Sometimes the wick can burn if it isn't properly saturated with e-liquid prior to use. A way to always avoid this is allowing your coil to soak well in e-liquid for some minutes after replacement. Also, try not to chain vape too much because it can lead to hot coils and thus burnt flavor.

How to Fix Vapor Production Problems

There are a couple of things more frustrating than a drop in vapor production volume, especially for those who think thick clouds are what make vaping worth doing. If your vape doesn't seem to be producing enough vapor, the first place you should look is the coil. Sometimes, these burn out or become clogged with residue that accrues over time, limiting the amount of vapor coming through. If so, replace the coil. Also, check your wattage settings if your device is adjustable. Low wattage can cause weak vapor production. Ensure that you are running the right settings for your coil and device. Cleaning your tank and airflow holes will also prevent blockages that reduce the output of vapor.

How to Fix Air Flow

One thing is for sure-skewed airflow can utterly disrupt your experience, and you will find it difficult to take fine puffs. If the vape is either too tight or too airy, refer to your tank's airflow control ring-if your device has one. For tight airflow, obstructions in the airflow holes must be cleaned. Too much airflow from your vape might be because it is not set to your preferential setting. Experiment with the different airflow settings until you find your sweet spot for how you vape.

How to Prevent Auto-Firing Issues

An auto-firing problem simply means that your vape turns on when you are not pressing the button. If this occurs, it may present a danger, and you should immediately act. If this happens, take the battery out or turn the device off as fast as possible to prevent overheating or damage. It could also be due to a faulty firing button or a problem with the circuitry of the device. You must clean out the firing button and ensure there is no dirt or residue causing it to stick. If the problem still exists, you'd better stop using the device and consult with the manufacturer or get a replacement.

Issues with vaping are common, but most of these can be so easily sorted by applying basic troubleshooting techniques. From problems with the battery to replacing coils and adjusting the airflow, most can be avoided with a smidgen of knowledge. The more you service your device and keep an eye on any performance shifts, the longer it lasts and the more enjoyable vape experiences you'll consistently have.
