Doctors at Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar, Hyderabad, made an unexpected finding that a 66-year-old patient had a piece of bone stuck in his oesophagus. According to reports, this bone had been creating major issues, including the development of oesophageal ulcers, for more than a month.
Sriramulu, a patient from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district's Kakkireni village, was reportedly unable to chew food properly due to his lack of teeth, which is what caused him to become ill. At a feast for weddings, he swallowed a 3.5 cm-long bone by mistake. When Sriramulu came to the local doctors a few days later complaining of chest symptoms, they originally misdiagnosed him with stomach issues. Finally, he was referred to Dr. Radhika Nittala, the gastroenterologist at Kamineni Hospital.
"Sriramulu's condition was severe due to the prolonged presence of the impacted bone, which had pierced the oesophageal wall very close to the heart, causing ulcers,". Because of the bone's proximity to the pericardium, the endoscopic surgery needed to be handled carefully to prevent other difficulties, such as a perforation."

Following his successful surgery, Sriramulu was put on a strict diet to aid in his recovery.
Earlier, a doctor at Delhi's Moolchand Hospital saved the life of a small boy who had unintentionally eaten a five-rupee coin. The youngster did not exhibit any symptoms, but the X-ray revealed the ₹5 coin in his stomach. The boy was then taken to Moolchand Hospital in Delhi, where he received medical attention from a team led by Dr. Rishi Raman.
While the kid was sedated, the surgeons removed the coin from his body using the Roth net procedure. Following the coin's retrieval, an ulcer covered in a serpiginous slough was discovered at the coin's location. Dr. Rishi Raman of Moolchand successfully extracted a lodged coin from a little boy's neck in an amazing demonstration of medical skill, according to Moolchand Healthcare.
